Voodoo Vince is coming back! Not a sequel but rather a remastered version of the 2003 game. I have fond memories playing it for many hours on the original XBOX, but no longer own the OG XBOX so this announcement of a remastered version is some excellent New Orleans music to my ears.
Great tunes with that New Orleans flair, humor, sarcasm and a protagonist that you'll love to stick pins into over and over again. Quirky game and I've missed it. Nice too that so many others will finally get a chance to play it.
The game is in good hands being handled by it's creator Clayton Kauzlaric and his independent studio Beep Games, Inc. "I'm super excited to bring Voodoo Vince back," says Kauzlaric. "Backward compatibility was never possible due to the nature of our game engine, but the ID@Xbox program got me thinking about publishing an HD remastered version independently, with much of the game rewritten from the ground up to run on newer hardware. The folks at Microsoft have been amazingly supportive of the idea."
Beep Games hasn't messed with the formula preserving the original action, puzzle platforming in the remastered version. Where they have made improvements however is obviously with the visuals. The game will sport a hardy 60 frames per second at 1080p resolution and of course also now have achievements.
Look for the game early 2017 on the XBOX One and Windows 10. In the meantime enjoy a teaser trailer for the game:
